HCYC - T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® HAWAII

During the Spring 2005 semester T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® Hawaii provided 24 early childhood professionals with financial assistance for coursework taken towards as Associates Degree in Early Childhood at four community colleges throughout the state.

This year the Department of Human Services, a major funding source for T.E.A.C.H., decided not to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for scholarships to support Early Childhood Education Degrees. Therefore, no new T.E.A.C.H. scholarship contracts are begin issued. The Hawaii Busioness Roundtable's support via the Hawaii Early Education Fund and a grant from the Jeanette and Harry Weinberg Foundation will enable the fulfillment of all current contracts through the end of Spring 2006. Good Beginnings Alliance continues to work towards identifying dedicated resources to support degree focused scholarships for early childhood professionals.
