(Teacher Education and Compensation Helps) Early Childhood® HAWAII is different from other scholarship programs. It is dedicated to helping teaching staff and family child care providers complete coursework in early childhood. It is a partnership for sharing expenses and links education, compensation and commitment to improving professionalism and quality early care and education programs for children. T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® HAWAII is a project of Good Beginnings Alliance and is funded through private citizens and the Hawaii Business Round Table through the Hawaii Early Education Fund. Additional funding for the project has come from the Hawaii State Department of Human Services and the Hawaii Community Foundation. Any Teacher, Assistant, and/or Aide or Family Child Care Provider who is employed full-time (30 hours/week minimum) in a licensed child care center or licensed family child care home is eligible to apply. Scholarships are awarded on the basis of need and commitment to the Early Childhood Education field, as shown through information on the application. Individuals who are working 20-29 hours may be eligible, but restrictions may apply. T.E.A.C.H. Models |
