Professional Development

Helping early childhood teachers, aides, directors, providers and care givers to be their best goes hand-in-hand with ensuring that Hawaii's keiki are safe, healthy and ready to succeed.

Our Professional Development programs represent our deep commitment to the many individuals who tirelessly work to improve the well-being of Hawaii's keiki.

In 1999, Good Beginnings was chosen to house the Hawaii Careers with Young Children Registry (The Registry) and the Training Quality Assurance System (TQAS).  The Registry is a statewide program that documents and recognizes the professional achievements of practitioners in early childhood programs.  TQAS is designed to support and set standards for community based training opportunities.

In 2000, Good Beginnings launched the  T.E.A.C.H. Early Childhood® HAWAII scholarship program.  T.E.A.C.H. gives scholarships to teachers in early childhood programs and family child care providers to complete course work in early childhood education.
