The Ho’olaulima No Na Keiki (Working Together for the Children) Awards are given out annually to recognize Hawaii’s early childhood professionals and to highlight the importance of quality early education and care.   In November of each year, Good Beginnings invites parents, family members and community leaders to nominate an early childhood professional who has had a profound impact on the healthy development of young children.   The awards ceremony is held during April to celebrate the Month of the Young Child.

Good Beginnings began the Ho’olaulima No Na Keiki Awards in 1998.  The awards recognize professionals who directly provide young children with quality early experiences.  Quality early childhood experiences support children’s positive social and emotional development, which enhances their readiness for school.  Research has concluded that how young children feel is just as important as what they can do.  This is especially true in terms of a child being ready for school.  Quality early childhood settings – whether in a center or in a family child care home – benefit keiki by providing safe, stimulating and nurturing environments for them to grow and learn.

Good Beginnings asks that you nominate the person who is providing your child with quality early experiences.  Visit the  Ho'olaulima No Na Keiki Page for updates.
