Strengthening Hawaii's Children, Youth and Families

In 2000, Good Beginnings Alliance took the lead in creating Champions for Children, a group of organizations that are dedicated to improving the lives of Hawaii's children and families.

• Promote change for the well-being of children and youth
• Provide a forum for sharing information among members
• Identify gaps and seek better services for children/youth
• Provide Hawaii's decision-makers and the general public with information on issues affecting children
• Coordinates advocacy efforts of its members
• Propose, support legislation affecting children, youth, and families

To facilitate Champions for Children, Good Beginnings tracks legislation that impacts Hawaii's keiki and their families. We email hearing notices and talking points to our Champions for Children partners throughout the legislative session. Good Beginnings' Champions for Children coordinator also regularly updates and disseminates legislative tracking sheets. We work to ensure that Hawaii's advocates for children have current information and will use this information to make positive changes for Hawaii's keiki.
